Unaffiliated Organizations

At USC, we are proud to support a fraternity and sorority community that is rooted in connection, leadership, and accountability. The affiliation process helps ensure that students are joining university-recognized organizations that are committed to providing safe, enriching experiences; access to well-established programs and resources; and a formal partnership with the institution.

Affiliated fraternities offer students opportunities to find belonging, enjoy meaningful social experiences, and build lifelong friendships within a community grounded in shared values.

The organizations listed below are not currently affiliated with USC. These groups have chosen to operate independently of the university and are therefore not subject to the same policies, oversight, or support provided to recognized student organizations. Some may engage in recruitment activities that are not sanctioned by the university. For these reasons, we strongly encourage students to join organizations that are officially recognized and supported by USC.

Statement on Disaffiliation

We recognize that some USC fraternities have chosen to disaffiliate from the university, following a broader national trend. While we are disappointed in this decision, we respect their autonomy and remain committed to supporting the individual students who are part of our community.

Our goal has always been to ensure that all fraternities and sororities can thrive within a structure that prioritizes student safety, well-being, and success. University recognition provides access to staff guidance, leadership development opportunities, and resources that strengthen the overall fraternity and sorority experience.

Although these organizations will no longer receive the benefits and privileges of university recognition, their members—like all USC students—will continue to be held to the same high standards of behavior and will always have access to university support services.

Importantly, we remain open and hopeful that these groups may one day choose to rejoin our university-affiliated community. Should they wish to return, we are committed to welcoming them back and working collaboratively to ensure a smooth and supportive reintegration process.

Our priority will always be the safety, growth, and success of every USC student. We encourage students to seek membership in organizations that share those same values and are committed to partnering with the university to provide the best possible fraternity and sorority experience.
